Happy Half Birthday Tilly! This week she turned 6 months old. Wow!! Time flies!! It sounds like a cliche but it really does seem like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital.
The other day Tilly went for her 6 month checkup and soundly impressed the doctor - perfectly healthy and almost sitting up! She's also just like her brother - tall and skinny.
Weight - 14 lb, 11.5 oz (25% percentile)
Height - 26 5/8 inches (75% percentile)
Head circumference - 16 5/8 inches (50% percentile)
To put it in perspective, here she was just a few days old:
And tonight, 6 months (and a few days) old. She's rolling around so much it's hard to get her laying across the crib. Plus her smile was so cute I had to use this one:
Since Halloween is approaching, Papa TT and I decided to get prepared with some pumpkin carving! The kids joined in (for the most part) and the results were pretty good.
First, Tigger helped clean out the pumpkins:
Such a helper! Then he helped me separate the pumpkin seeds for roasting while Tilly observes.
And then Tigger lost interest. He took the spoon we were using to scrape out the pumpkins and started playing with leaves. Oh well!
Tilly is still interested enough to watch us.
And here are the finished products - one happy and one scary pumpkin. Papa TT deserves all the credit - pretty good, huh?
We recently caught the kids being very cute doing simple everyday things so I wanted to quickly post a few random pics.
We've started feeding Tilly solids and they are a big hit. So far she's had rice cereal, pumpkin, banana and sweet potato. Here is what dinner time typically looks like in our house.
Yes folks, it gets messy...
..but we have fun.
Tilly has also started covering the whole house by rolling around. If you turn your back for a second, she's rolled herself under the couch!
The kids are getting so big! Tilly is rolling around like crazy and Tigger continues learning new words (and imitating what we say). I shot a couple of cute videos recently. In the first one, Tilly is sitting and standing - with Papa TT's help. You can hear me protesting in the background because I'm not ready for her to grow up so quickly!
Sometimes when Tilly is crying I'll ask her 'What's Wrong?' Tigger has started imitating me - when she's crying he walks over, squats down to look at her and asks 'What's Wrong?' It is SO cute. Every time I try to record him doing it he sees the camera and wants to play with it (he loves watching the screen while I'm recording). Yesterday I managed to get him saying this, partly because I stayed back so he wouldn't see me. I'm far away, in the kitchen, but just as the video starts you can hear Tilly cry out then Tigger saying 'What's Wrong?'
Last weekend we all headed down to G-Ma and G-Pa T's for Auntie Meghan's wedding to (now) Uncle Todd. It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but great fun!
Before all the festivities started, Tilly enjoyed some time with G-Ma T. Look at those eyes!
Tigger helped out lots that weekend. Here he is helping the Matron of Honor get lunch ready for the ladies on the big day.
The fun began with getting dressed for the wedding. Tigger was the ring bearer so he had an adorable (and apparently rash-inducing, highly synthetic polyester) suit to put on. Papa TT helped Tigger while Tilly looked on.
Is it my turn yet?
All handsome!
Tilly's turn!
Tigger wants to help!
All pretty (and apparently not very happy!)
We headed over to the festivities where the kids hung out with G-Pa T.
Before the ceremony started, I handed Tilly off to her second cousins so I could take pictures. Lexi and Bella were intrigued by the baby!
The ceremony starts! Todd's sister Dede and brother-in-law Charles go first.
Then Papa TT and G-Ma T.
Then it's time for the flower girl and Tigger (sorry to the Matron of Honor - the camera was 'busy' when I tried to take her pic walking down the aisle).
This picture is really far away but if you look closely, you can see Tigger picking up the flower petals the flower girl dropped. He was trying to be helpful!
Carrying his football and holding the flower girl's hand (he was quite infatuated with her).
They're so cute!
And here's the bride with G-Pa T!
The bride and groom.
The lovely ceremony - notice Tigger hanging out. Papa TT and I tried to keep him on our laps as long as we could. He managed to stay quiet while gazing at his new best friends (the Matron of Honor and flower girl).
He found another flower petal...
Mr. and Mrs. Edwards!
We didn't get many videos over the weekend but I did manage to get this during picture taking.
The last picture is by far the best. After all of that - getting dressed, waiting for the ceremony, walking down the aisle, watching the ceremony and doing pictures, we were finally free to relax. I, of course, wanted one more family pic with our camera. The kids were SO done!
Well, it's been a while. Things have been busy at the Thomas household, as we adjust to no longer having a cook, maid, and governess (aka Mama TT is back at work).
A couple of weeks ago we went apple pickin'!
Good time had by all - Tigger still talks about the "chickens"!
Walking in to the farm - Tigger helping with the wheelbarrow! Mmm, green and delicious! What a throw... Ahh, fun was had by all: Best dish from the apples: G-Ma T's Apple Crisp!
And here are a few unrelated yet cute pics to help make up for the delay since our last post...
