First Step

Trip has been working up to taking her first step and has finally done it! Her first step was actually a few weeks ago (at 15 months!) but just got a video of a tiny step.

First, here's a video from August of her crab walking - getting ready.


And here she is taking a tiny step. This is also funny because Papa TT scolds her - she'd been screaming a lot that day so he admonished her. Her face is so funny as she processes it!

Last night Trip was playing with the same toy Tilly has played with so I grabbed the camera. I think the funniest part is the beginning - notice how she reaches down and grabs her pacifier with her mouth, not her hands:)

First Word

It's like Trip is on a trajectory recently to grow up fast! She has started babbling and we've discerned two words - Mama and Dada. She's all about Dada in this video though we believe she started with Mama. We'll call it a tie for her first word:)

I love my big brother

Tigger is turning into such a great big brother. He is so sweet with Trip - just the other night he decided to get her a book and share it with her:


And last weekend (when they were supposed to be napping) I heard noises from the room they share. They were playing together through the crib slats. It was so cute! I wish I'd gotten more before Tigger noticed me.

On the move

Trip is moving now - she can really get around with her army-belly crawl. Here she is making progress in the hall....


...then proceeding into the bathroom. Yes, that's Tilly saying that Trip has to stay in the bathroom so she won't be lonely:)

She loves to talk!

Texas Visit

Last week we traveled to Texas to visit family - the kids had a blast seeing Meema, Aunt Lorelei, Uncle Michael and cousins Cassidy and Aislinn.

There was lots of time visiting and hanging out with the family.

 

On top of good family time, cousin Cassidy had a birthday party at a bouncy house. Tigger and Tilly loved it, especially the slide.

I went down with Tilly a couple of times and then she was ready to go on her own!

Other bouncy things were enjoyed as well.

Whew, they worked up an appetite!

Two months

We celebrated Trip's two month birthday today by taking her to the doctor. She's doing great - still long and lean.

• Weight: 10 lb, 2.5 oz (25th percentile)
• Length: 22 7/8 inches (75th percentile)
• Head circumference: 15 1/8 inches (25 - 50th percentile)

She's getting so big. Here are the comparison pics at birth and two months.

And finally, a video of her talking and very deliberately batting at her toy elephant. Tigger loved it too when he was a baby!

Bunny/Kangaroo song

Tigger was singing us a new song he learned at school - something about a bunny and a kangaroo. I just caught the tail end, but he's very cute, as is Tilly imitating him!

Dinnertime Groovin'

The other night Papa TT put on some Weird Al at the end of dinner. The kids loved jamming out to 'Eat It.' Unfortunately Tilly froze up when she saw the camera, but Tigger rocked out.



I caught Tilly jamming for a few seconds on the next song, before she noticed the camera:

Trip Revealed

Well folks, we decided to find out Trip's gender. We had the sonogram tech write the gender on a card at our last visit and had the unveiling tonight. Tigger and Tilly helped....

Christmas Part 1

We had lots of Christmas fun this holiday season so I have to break it into two posts.

Earlier in December, we got a Christmas tree and the kids had great fun decorating it!

A few weeks later G-Ma and G-Pa T came for a visit. Tigger and Tilly helped G-Ma T make a snack. They ate as much as they helped prep!


Then there were presents.



We spent Christmas with the family in Texas. Unfortunately we forgot our camera but I did get this great video of the kids singing Jingle Bells with their cousins and Aunt Lorelei. Watch how Tilly just stares at Lorelei. And Tigger's 'Hey!' with a jump.

Happy Thanksgiving

Papa TT and I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! We had a wonderful feast! Though we didn't travel so didn't see any family, we enjoyed the time with just the four of us.

Papa TT and I prepared quite a feast - Papa TT did the turkey, stuffing and green bean casserole. I did the mashed potoatos and pecan pie (my best ever, according to Papa TT).

After we finished eating the kids took turns saying 'Happy Thanksgiving.' So cute!

Thanksgiving Art

Tigger and Tilly both made Thanksgiving cards at school/day care so I filmed them telling me about them. I'm not sure which is cuter - Tilly knowing how to say her name ('Na-tha') or Tigger drawing a pacifier for Tilly.

Just like Mama

Tilly is such the imitator - she grabbed my purse this morning and started 'carrying' it around. So cute!

Papa TT was getting Tilly ready for bed tonight and started playing with her. She loved it - watch her ask for more.

Fire Truck!

Tigger and Tilly were very cute on the fire truck the other day. They were actually riding on it together and when I got back from grabbing the camera, Tilly had gotten off:(

At the beginning of the video he says 'My brother gotta ride.' That's because before I started filming I asked Tilly if she was riding with her brother. Tigger gets his pronouns mixed up sometimes but he's very cute with the brother/sister thing.

And don't be concerned with the bandaid on Tigger's eye. He's obsessed with bandaids lately and demands them all the time. Nothing was actually wrong with him, I just gave in when he went digging in the drawer for them!

She's walking

It's official - Tilly is walking. She's taken a step here or there and we finally caught it on video. It's not much but we're calling it walking!





Please pardon the cursing - I really wanted her to take two steps!
