Trip has been working up to taking her first step and has finally done it! Her first step was actually a few weeks ago (at 15 months!) but just got a video of a tiny step.
First, here's a video from August of her crab walking - getting ready.
And here she is taking a tiny step. This is also funny because Papa TT scolds her - she'd been screaming a lot that day so he admonished her. Her face is so funny as she processes it!

First Word
It's like Trip is on a trajectory recently to grow up fast! She has started babbling and we've discerned two words - Mama and Dada. She's all about Dada in this video though we believe she started with Mama. We'll call it a tie for her first word:)

First and Second Bath
Last week we gave Trip her first bath. As expected, she protested a bit but was calm and happy by the end.
I also have to post a picture of her second bath. Tigger and Tilly are obsessed with Trip's baths. Unfortunately they missed her first one because they weren't behaving so had to go to bed without participating. They were so disappointed - is it wrong we've found a new incentive to bribe them with? They were very excited to watch her second bath and have asked a couple of time already when her next one is.

Coming Home
We got her dressed in the standard going home outfit all the kids have worn. She cried while we were changing her but then quieted down and fell asleep before we were even home.
The whole family is home!

Potty training
Well, we've started down the potty training journey with Tilly. She's not even two yet (in just a few weeks!) but has recently been asking to go to the potty. And for a while she's been telling us when she poops in her diaper. So we declared her ready, bought pull-ups and underwear and started last weekend.
Day care and school were closed last Friday so Papa TT stayed home with the kids and started the process. We were out and about all weekend so couldn't let her run around the house naked like we did with Tigger. But she is definitely getting it. On Sunday she pooped in the potty - so exciting! She understood what she was doing - she'd tell us as she peed. We just need to work on her telling us before.
On Monday she was back at day care and they continued putting her in the potty. Each day she would do something in the potty. We also had some successes at home.
The following weekend, after a week of potty training, we headed to GMa and GPa T's. The change of scenery and commotion threw her off a little. She peed in the potty once but it was mostly her telling us while she was doing something in her pull-up.
We'll keep chugging along. She's definitely getting it - hopefully we'll be out of pull-ups soon!

Tigger's First School Program
A few weeks ago, Tigger participated in his first school program. His school had a Festival of Lights complete with singing and celebration of many holiday traditions. The preschool class had a small part - they did the processional at the beginning of the program with stars they had made. Tigger did great walking!

Big Girl Bed
Last weekend Papa TT and I decided it was time for Tilly to graduate to a big girl bed. We got her the same kind of bed as Tigger, in a different color. She'll be in a big girl bed and will share a room with Tigger.
So last Saturday Papa TT got the bed out. Both kids got involved putting it together.

No fear:

And here is their new room! We still need to get Tilly a comforter and I really want to change the rug in the room, but it's looking pretty good!
We tried putting them in bed for the first time when we had friends over for dinner. That didn't work because they kept getting up and playing together and Papa TT and I were trying to enjoy the company of our friends. So we put Tilly in her crib and tried again the next day. Later that night we found Tigger asleep in Tilly's bed. He had pulled his pillow and comforter over there and fallen asleep!
The next night went much better with Papa TT and I able to give full attention to monitoring compliance with the 'Stay in your bed' rule. They now love sleeping in the same room but still take a little time to fall asleep. Ironically Tilly is the worst offender at getting out of bed constantly. I guess she's just so excited with her new found freedom.

First Day of School
Today was Tigger's first day of school! Our local elementary school offers not only a pre-k class but a preschool class for 3 year olds so we enrolled him and his first day was today!
He looked like such a big boy with his dinosaur backpack. He also has to wear a uniform - white top and blue bottoms. Both Papa TT and I and his teachers at day care have been prepping him for school so he was all ready to go.
He was a little hesitant in the big crowd of kids going in - he was definitely holding our hands. But then we got to his classroom and he was fine. Look at his cool classroom!
He followed the steps (with his name!)..
..to his cubby and put away his backpack.
Then breakfast came out and he was happy as a clam! We kissed him goodbye and headed out.
When we picked him up he was perfectly happy. His teacher said he was friendly, happy and told them about his baby Samantha at home. He did great and only Mama TT cried!

She's walking
It's official - Tilly is walking. She's taken a step here or there and we finally caught it on video. It's not much but we're calling it walking!
Please pardon the cursing - I really wanted her to take two steps!

A Tooth!
At about 8 1/2 months, Tilly got her first tooth!! Of course, by the time Papa TT and I got around to taking a picture of it, she had two! Check it out:
Here are a few other cute pictures of Tilly. When she sleeps, she tilts her head way back. It doesn't look very comfortable but she likes it.
Papa TT got some action shots of her crawling. She like to get RIGHT in front of the camera.

In addition to crawling, she likes to pull herself up to standing. She's a pro by now:

Potty Trained!
Yes, folks it's true. Tigger is finally potty trained!! With the Christmas holidays and the opportunity to spend 5 straight days together, Papa TT and I decided Tigger was ready to start using the potty.
It was tough the first few days, but Tigger got the hang of the whole potty thing in about a week. We basically went cold turkey with the diapers - one day it was no more diapers. The first few days were tough. Tigger had lots of accidents and at one point I was actually begging him to pee in the potty (something I never thought I'd be begging another person to do).
After 2-3 days, he started to get it and actually peed in the potty a few times. By day 5-6, he was having fewer accidents. By a week's time, he would know he needed to pee, would ask to pee and would pee in the potty!! After about a week and a half, he even got to pooping in the potty.
Here are a few action shots. Yes, they're a bit personal, but I HAD to preserve this very important milestone! So at 2 years, 4 months, Tigger was potty trained. Go team.

Real Food!
Last night at dinner we decided to let Tilly join us at the table and have her first taste of solids. It was a family meal!
First, Papa TT prepared her food.
Then Tilly ate! The whole thing was a bit new to her so she wasn't too thrilled. But it was a good first meal!
After Tilly ate, Tigger finished his dinner and was of course interested in Tilly's food. He quickly lost interest.....
We can't believe Tilly is eating solids already. She's growing up so fast!!

She Rolled Over!!
Our big girl rolled over today! Unfortunately Papa TT and I both missed it! I laid her down in her crib for a nap and shortly after that Papa TT checked on her. I had laid her down on her back, as always, but Papa TT found her like this!
Hopefully we'll see the action ourselves soon. We're so proud of our big girl!!
