He's getting smarter

Tigger is getting so smart! First, he's learning how to imitate. Papa Tigger picked him up from day care and he was doing a funny noise with his lips and hand. I guess they taught it to him at daycare. They came home and we caught it on video:

He's also figuring out that things open/close and go inside other things. Here he is learning shapes with Papa Tigger:

Today, Tigger also received a very special book from Meema.

In the book, it tells the story of a baby born August 27, 2008 who needed a name. The book goes through and spells his name.

Isn't that cute? Thank you Meema!

I'll wrap up the post with a few other random cute pictures. Here's Caleb playing with his push toy the other night. He ended up under the dining room table and hung out for a while.

And finally, here's a picture of him with one of his favorite new toys. A women I work with bought him a little barnyard carrying case (shaped like a barn) with four animals inside. He sometimes likes to crawl around with one of the animals in his mouth. Here he is with the cow.

So cute!!

Walking and Riding

Tigger recently got a new toy - a radio flyer tricycle (another great Craigslist bargain!). It's great because the parent can push and actually steer the tricycle.

After getting home today from work and daycare, Tigger and I took it for a spin. His feet don't reach the pedals or touch the ground, but he manages just fine. He holds onto the handles and actually steers! I didn't get any action shots (these are of me stopping to take his picture) because it was just me and Tigger.

As I carried Tigger and the tricycle inside, Tigger was grabbing the push handle. It occurred to me that he hasn't tried pushing his walker in a while. I put him behind his walker (that meema got him) and he took off! I had trouble keeping up with him:

The Thomases in Spain

As many of you know, Papa Tigger, Tigger and I took a family vacation to Spain a few weeks ago. We spent 3 days in Barcelona and 3 days in Mallorca (an island off the coast of Barcelona). Papa Tigger and I traveled a lot before Tigger came along, so we finally decided to try international travel with him. It was an adventure - definitely hard at times - but overall a good time.

There were too many pictures to put in the blog, so I've uploaded them to snapfish. Here is the link to the Snapfish album. In order to see the photo captions, click on the first picture and click 'next' to page through the album (do not view the slideshow).

We also took the flip to Spain. Here's a few videos we shot. The first one is in our Barcelona hotel room and the other two are in Mallorca.

Dirty Boy

Tigger needed a bath tonight, so Papa Tigger started teasing him about being a 'dirty boy.' He loved it and squealed with delight. Here we are playing (the unsteady camera work was because Papa Tigger was chasing me and Tigger):

p.s. this is hot off the press, filmed 15 minutes ago!!

Fun with Birthday Balloons

So here is a catch-up post. A few weeks ago when we had Tigger's birthday celebration, we left the balloons around since Tigger had so much fun with them.

One morning, Papa Tigger caught Tigger playing with the balloons. Check out how smart he is 'catching' the balloon.

Notice the end how he swats the balloons out of the way so he can climb the stairs? I guess he learned his lesson from the following experience, trying to crawl over the balloons:

Quick Morning Post

I know we haven't posted in a while - we took a family vacation last week and are still catching up. I thought I'd post a couple pics from this morning, to get everyone through until we post all our vacation pics.

Tigger was crawling under our desks this morning and stood up. He loves exploring things. He is pant-less because we were in the process of dressing him (the first pair were too big and we were grabbing another pair that would stay on).

Tigger's First Haircut

Some of you may have noticed the curls in Tigger's hair in those one year photos. His hair has been getting pretty long - I often have to brush his hair behind his ears!

Since we took all those great one year photos, I finally got Papa Tigger to agree to cut Tigger's hair. So the other night I took out the scissors, put Tigger on Papa Tigger's lap and started cutting away. I just trimmed the back (it was almost over his collar!) and above his ears. I think I did pretty well for an amateur. And yes, I saved the hair:
