Daddy Bonding...

Claws!!!

G-Ma T Meets Tilly

And no, we don't have a name yet...

Nestled In...

All snug in our tiny room. Mama TT is resting comfortably, as Tilly sleeps in my lap...

Details

5 lbs 13.7 oz. 19.5 inches, 9:36a 4/27/2010... All is good!!!

Drugs!

Mama TT is doing amazing! I'm glad I'm a man...

But all good times have to come to an end, so she is getting an epidural to dull the pain. The pitocin speeds things along but also ratchets up the pain. Because the fluid is low we need to get the party movin'. So, drugs it is!

All is well...

We are about 9 hours in to what the doc says is a 12 - 24 hour process. We are not yet in a consistent rythm of contractions so we may be at the long end of his range... Gonna be a long night!

Funny tidbit - when we got here Mama TT said they wouldn't let us leave (we were sent over for some tests...). Made me think of Hotel California...

Quick visit

Papa Tigger brought Tigger by tonight since we're still just waiting. It sure raised my spirits!

Tucked In...

So we are tucked in at Labor and Delivery. We are going to induce today!

The fun is just starting. The g-rents have been notified - G-Ma T is on her way in to take care of Tigger. I just made a run to grab the bag and one last Five Guys hit (Mama TT's request).

And so now we wait. Gonna meet my daughter soon!!!

Tilly's coming soon

At this morning's checkup, we discovered that the fluid was really low (6.6), so the doc sent us over to the hospital. Hopefully we'll meet her soon!

Stay tuned....

Swimming

As we continue to wait for Tilly, Papa Tigger and I decided to do something fun for Tigger. He LOVES to swim and DC has several indoor aquatic centers that are open year round. Even though the weather is warming up, the outdoor pools aren't opening until the end of May so we decided to suit up and head to one of the indoor pools.

The one we went to had a children's pool stocked with several basketballs (balls - Tigger's favorite!). He had lots of fun playing with the balls and of course, Tigger threw a bit of an embarrassing hissy fit when it was time to leave. We'll have to work on that.....

Papa Tigger really wanted a picture of me immensely pregnant in my bikini and actually took a couple of pics. But darn it, they were just too blurry to use.

She's in no hurry

Today was the 38-week check and Tilly is still happy where she is. The fluid was 10.2, so we continue to just wait. One good sign of progress - the contractions measurement during the non-stress did show some movement. It wasn't a real contraction, but the numbers were elevated to show some activity.

We'll see.....

Weekend Fun at the Park

Yesterday, we went to the park again with Tigger. Actually, we pretty much go every Saturday and Sunday. He LOVES being outside. He will not only bring you his shoes, but your own as a hint that he wants to go outside.

Luckily, we have a park just a few blocks away. Yesterday, we were coming back from our local nursery (trying to get the yard cleaned up a bit for spring!) and stopped by a different neighborhood park. There were all sorts of new things for Tigger!

Still no baby

Today was our 37 week check and not only is the fluid holding steady, it improved! Today it was 12.9. Tilly also passed her non-stress test, during which the technician noted not a single sign of contractions (something else monitored with the test).

The bed rest must be working! We might be in this for a while!

I'll finish the post with a picture I took yesterday during my one outing (Papa Tigger and I negotiate daily about how much I'm able to do). Papa Tigger and Tigger were playing basketball while I relaxed on the park bench. So cute!

And finally, our little helper. He loves to help - he throws things in the trash, picks up things, gets his shoes when it's time to head outside and feeds the dog.

No Baby Today!

The AFI was 10.0! Mama TT is doing well, adjusting to bed rest. The next appointment is Monday. Until then...

Precautions

Yesterday Papa Tigger and I went for our 36-week check. There's good news and not so good news. Let's start with the good news.

The good news is that Tilly is 6 pounds, 2 ounces. Though the sonogram isn't exact, it's great news that she's growing so well! She's also still heads-down, ready to go! And the technician even checked her head and informed us that she has hair:) She also passed her non-stress test.

The not so good news is that the amniotic fluid continues to drop. It's 9.7, which is still well above 5 but concerning because it's dropping and is following the same pattern as Tigger. Up until the point we delivered him, the fluid had been 11, 9, then 5.

So we've discussed with the doctor and decided to try bed rest to keep the fluid up and cook this one a little longer. We're also going back on Friday to check the fluid level, instead of waiting another week. We'll keep you posted!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!! We hope you had a great Easter celebration. We had a full weekend - fun activities and church to remember the real reason for Easter.

We started on Saturday with an Easter Egg hunt at a local park, run by a nearby church. It was huge! They call it the Easter Eggstravaganza for a reason! There was an Easter bunny, all sorts of Easter games, a bunny petting zoo (man those bunnies looked freaked out!) and my favorite part, an Easter egg hunt.

After getting Tigger in his first Easter outfit (what a cute sweater vest, huh?), we took a few pics and headed out.

My handsome boys:)

Once there, we got a family picture with the inflatable bunny.

Tigger wanted to play with the egg....

Here's a quick video (yes, it's a duck basket not a bunny basket - thanks G-Ma and G-Pa T!!!):

Tigger had his first taste of cotton candy. He wasn't a big fan, probably because it got his hands sticky (he is SO my son).

He was surprisingly interested in the Easter bunny. No tears like with Santa!

Finally it was time for the Easter egg hunt. It was insane!! Check out the crowds waiting for the go ahead. This was just the pre-k (4 and under) egg hunt. They had a separate one for K-5. It looks like a lot of eggs, but everything was completely gone in about 2 minutes once they gave the go ahead!

And they're off!
As expected, Tigger did a great job. He loves picking things up and putting them in their place (again, he is SO my son!).

Afterwards he checked out his loot with Papa Tigger. Pretty good!

Sunday was more Easter celebrations! We got Tigger into his church Easter outfit - the tie was Papa Tigger's idea. How cute!

We then went to church where we had lots of visitors and Pastor Donna gave a great message. Tigger even got a few minutes of outside play before church started.

After service it was a potluck lunch and another Easter egg hunt. Tigger's a pro by now!

And a quick video of Tigger blowing off some steam after his 2nd and final egg hunt:

Yeah for Tigger!! It was a great weekend and we all had fun. Happy Easter!

Kites and Toothbrushes

Last weekend, Papa Tigger, Tigger, Major and I headed to the National Mall for the Smithsonian Kite Festival. The weather was gorgeous, though a bit chilly. We got there just before noon, so had to start with a little lunch. Here are the boys chillin' and having their lunch:

Once we were all fed, Papa Tigger and Tigger started working on the kite. I was trying to control Major (so excited with all the people, sights and smells!) and take pictures.

Such a helper!

It's up!

Trying again...

Oops, this isn't right

Up again! But Tigger's down!

My favorite picture (I wish I'd gotten closer) - what Tigger did each time the kite got up. He so wanted to grab it!

After expending all that energy to fly kites, it was time to head home and nap. Here the boys are heading back to the car, with Tigger in a great spot for a good view.

And I'll finish off this post with another first (hey, it was his first kite experience). We've finally had to retire Tigger's first toothbrush. It was so cute - we found one with a baby Tigger on it! And just for the record, Tigger LOVES to brush his teeth. He more sucks on the toothbrush rather than uses it to brush his teeth, but we feel like we're teaching good hygiene now!
