Santa and Zoolights

A few days ago we were full of the holiday spirit! First Santa stopped by daycare and we got some pictures with him (I LOVE that daycare does this and saves me a trip to the mall). Of course, Tigger was unsure of the strange bearded man and would only stand next to him if one of us was there.

After Santa's visit we headed over to the national zoo for Zoolights. It's no Trail of Lights in Zilker Park but it's pretty good! Tigger loved it and Tilly slept through most of it. We arrive (and she's just fallen asleep):

She's still asleep:

She awakens at the very end!

Christmas Tree!

This post is a bit late but better late than never. A few weeks ago we got our Christmas tree and Tigger helped us decorate (Tilly was napping).

He was enthralled by the lights.

And helped hang them on the tree.

After the lights we hung a few ornaments, but Tigger quickly lost interest. We took a break and a few days later finished decorating. This time Tilly was awake and joined us.

With the tree all decorated, Papa Tigger laid down to add water to the tree base. Tigger quickly laid down next to him. Even Tilly wanted in on the action!

Tigger is still working on his pronunciation. He calls it 'Michmastree Lights!' I caught him saying it this morning:

I'll finish the post with a few random pictures of the kids playing one day. So cute!

Happy Thanksgiving

Papa TT and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!! We had lots of fun at G-Ma and G-Pa T's. Tigger and Tilly had a good time with the family! They spent time with G-Pa T:

Aunt Meghan:

Uncle Todd:

And family friends:

G-Ma T set a lovely table for Thanksgiving:

Tigger really enjoyed the meal. He ate lots of peas!

Tilly enjoyed the meal as well, after she woke up from her nap.

We all had a great time. Thanks G-Ma and G-Pa T!!

Trying to Crawl

Tilly is now 7 months old and wants to crawl SO badly. She can sit up (all by herself!), roll all over the place and just started scooting around. She's also started leaning forward to crawl and can sit there, poised as if ready to take off! I managed to catch her doing it last night - be patient because she finally does it about a minute in:

Of course I had to get a video of Tigger after he watched me film Tilly. I decided to get him saying 'blue' - he does it so great, it's 'buuhhlue!!

And finally, I'll post a picture I took of Papa TT and Tilly a few weeks ago. Tilly always sleeps in her crib, but I'd finished feeding her one morning and put her with Papa TT for a few minutes. I guess they both dozed off!

Talking to Each Other

Tigger and Tilly have started interacting a lot more and it's so cute. They talk to each other and play off each other. We managed to catch a few videos of them 'talking' to each other.

The other night Tigger and Tilly were talking to each other. Papa TT grabbed the Flip and tried to catch some of it:

Then Tigger started calling Tilly by name. His new version of Samantha is 'Bee Dah' - he doesn't quite get the 's' sound but gets the last syllable of her name.

A few days later I caught Tigger imitating Tilly. When he sees the camera he stops whatever he is doing so I tried to hide behind a chair to get the video. You can hear her squeal, then him imitating whatever sound she made.

Happy Halloween

Last night was Tilly's first and Tigger's third halloween. They both had a great time and were darling in their costumes. Of course, the costume journey was a bit bumpy.

One of Tigger's favorite books is Cupcake, which is about a plain vanilla cupcake that gets sad when all the fancy cupcakes get bought. And his friend the candle also feels sad when all the fancy candles are more popular. Then they realize that together they're special! So my great idea was for Tigger to be a cupcake and Tilly to be a candle.

I tried to buy a cupcake costume online but apparently you only dress up little girls as cupcakes. All the costumes involved pink and purple tutus. So Papa TT and I made Tigger's costume. It turned out well. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the 'cupcake' is attached to one of Papa TT's old shirts, so we could just put it over Tigger's head.

Well, Tigger was NOT a fan of the costume. He screamed bloody murder when we tried to put it on him Friday morning for daycare (so he went costume-less). We tried again on Halloween with no success. Papa TT had come up with a backup plan and with a little hair gel and eyeliner, Tigger was a rocker!

Papa TT is getting Tigger to stick his tongue out Ozzy Osbourne and Kiss-style.

To go along with the costume change, we decided that Tilly was a lighter:) How cute is the 'flame' on her head?

We headed out for some trick-or-treating!

And met up with Tigger's favorite friend from daycare, Addie; it was cold out so we had to ruin some of the cool rocker vibe with a Gap sweatshirt.

Trick-or-treating action shots!

What a night! Both kids crashed and slept well.
